Karin Viard
Biography
Karin Viard (born in 1966 in Rouen) is a French actress. After training in drama in Rouen and later in Paris, she made her screen debut in the early 1990s, notably appearing in Ătienne Chatiliez's Tatie Danielle (1990) and Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro's Delicatessen (1991). She gained public recognition with Philippe Harel's comedy Hiking (Les Randonneurs, 1997). Throughout her career, she has alternated between comedies, dramas, and stage productions. She has won three CĂ©sar Awards: Best Actress for SĂłlveig Anspach's Haut les cĆurs ! (1999), and two CĂ©sar Awards for Best Supporting Actress for Michel Blanc's Summer Things (Embrassez qui vous voudrez, 2002) and AndrĂ©a Bescond and Ăric MĂ©tayer's Little Tickles (Les Chatouilles, 2018). Her filmography also includes critical and commercial successes such as The Role of Her Life (Le RĂŽle de sa vie, 2004), Polisse (2011), The BĂ©lier Family (La Famille BĂ©lier, 2014), Jalouse (2017), and Madame de SĂ©vignĂ© (2024).
