Jalal Shammout
Biography
Jalal Shammout is a Syrian actor who was born on February 23, 1970 in Homs. He graduated from the department of acting at the High Institute of Theatrical Arts. Afterwards, he travelled to France to finish his studies. In 1993, he joined the Artistsâ Syndicate. Jalal began his acting career in the mid 1980s, and he appeared in several shows, including âEl Ikhwaâ (The Brothers) in 1985. It wasnât until the 1990s that he became a prolific actor; he appeared in the shows âBasma El Huznâ (Sad Smile) in 1992, âKhalf El Godranâ (Behind the Walls) in 1995, âEl Mahkoomâ (The Convicted) in 1996, âBint El Dhuraâ (Daughter of the Second Wife) in 1997, âYaqoutâ (Ruby) in 1998, and âJild El Afâaiâ (Snake Skin) in 1999. From 2000 until today, Jalal has appeared in a number of dramas, including âAyadi Fil Dhalamâ (Hands the Dark) in 2000, âSalah El Din El Ayyubiâ in 2001, âSaqr Quraishâ in 2002, âRabea Qurtabaâ (Spring of Cordoba) in 2003, âEl Hour El Ainâ (The Houri) in 2005, âAla Tool El Ayamâ (Along the Days) in 2006, âAmar El Shamâ in 2013, and others. He married the actress Andala Rawas after studying together at the Institute of Performing Arts. They have two daughters, Tia and Waliya.
